…I’d probably buy a nice watch or two. Because it’s nice to think about things you can’t possibly afford every now and again, here are some that I rather like.
Sinn 756 (photo by zdec)

I love aeronautically-inspired watches for the clarity of their faces, and this Sinn has it all.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Polaris

Look at it… just look at it! A re-issue of a 1967 JLC design, still amazing today.
IWC Ingenieur Automatic

I found a pre-owned example of this watch for sale recently, and I had to try it on. Photos don’t do it justice, it’s an extremely attractive design in the metal.
Oris Chronoris

I’m not usually a fan of the 70s-era look in watches, but I make an exception for this. I think it’s the orange accents that make me love it.

A beautiful face in an elegant and classic case. What’s not to like?
Perrelet Turbine

Talking of aeronautical inspiration, here’s a watch with a different take on the theme. The turbine blades are linked to the automatic winding mechanism so they turn as you move. Stunning.
